Much has been made of Elon Musk’s move into Texas recently. It’s going to be the home and base of operations of the world’s richest man for the foreseeable future. Texas’ hour of transitioning into America’s new automotive manufacturing hub is at hand as Elon Musk officially opens Tesla Gigafactory Texas, and we’re here today to take a look at every detail of it.
All eyes are now on the Giga Texas complex for the first evidence of IDRA’s 8,000-ton Giga Press, which seems to be the fourth 6,000-ton Model Y Giga Press. The Cybertruck’s underbody would be made with an 8,000 ton Giga Press, making it one of the largest of its kind on the market. IDRA said last year that it had acquired an order for an 8,000-ton Giga Press that wouldl be delivered in March 2021. It will thus come as no surprise if elements of the massive machine are soon discovered at the Giga Texas facility, as manufacturing is set to begin now.
