Hyundai to become first company to mass produce hydrogen fuel vehicle

Hyundai Motors announced on Tuesday that it will become the first car company to mass produce a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.
The ix35 is powered by a fuel cell stack which uses hydrogen gas with oxygen in the air to create electricity. The fuel cell stack is comprised of the electrolyte, the electrodes and bipolar plates. It takes hydrogen gas and combines it with oxygen in the environment to produce electricity. The only waste product is water.
The ix35 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 12.5 seconds and has a top speed of 100 mph.
Hyundai hopes to begin selling the vehicle to consumers sometime in 2015.
